We are happy to announce that Selene Yacht Service is now a parts and service dealer for FIscher-Panda generators. We have multiple members of our staff that have received the Level 3 certification during a recent trip to Miami, which is the highest certification they offer. We are proud to announce that we are now a dealer for Spot Satellite Messenger.
SPOT features four key functions that enable users to send messages to friends, family or emergency responders, based upon varying levels of need:
Alert 9-1-1 – Alert emergency responders to your exact location
SPOT sends one message every 5 minutes until power is depleted or 911 is cancelled.
Ask for Help – Request help from friends and family in your exact location
SPOT sends one message every 5 minutes for one hour or until Help is cancelled
Check In – Let contacts know where you are and that you’re okay
SPOT sends three identical messages to the SPOT service for redundancy. The first of those three messages is delivered.
Track Progress – Send and save your location and allow contacts to track your progress using Google Maps™
SPOT sends one message every 10 minutes for 24 hours or until SPOT is powered off.

This month is seventh annual Selene Rendezvous at Roche Harbor hosted by Selene Seattle. The event will take place from April 24-26 and we are excited about the chance to participate in our first Rendezvous. We will have several representatives from SYS and our Marine Electronics division to answer questions and talk to customers.

On March 12, 2008 we launched our Consignment parts for sale to provide customers a platform to sell spare parts and equipment. This will also allow all of our customers to conveniently find specific items they are looking for. We will be adding parts as they become available so be sure to check it frequently!

Simrad has announced they will be releasing new Instruments and Autopilots.
The IS20 Digital instruments provide an assortment of graphic trend
indicators and sophisticated navigation data on a large high contrast
dot matrix display, providing easy viewing in any light condition.
The IS20 GRAPHIC is a new multifunctional instrument that's ideal as a
dedicated instrument for any data to be read at distance in the cockpit
or on the mast. The flexibility to quickly toggle between display pages
makes the IS20 GRAPHIC the perfect universal performance instrument.
Choose from 8 user configurable easy to read data pages with multiple
data types on one screen, including Speed, Depth, Wind, Log, Timer and
Vessel Data.
The IS20 GRAPHIC instrument can also operate as a multifunction SimNet
or NMEA0183 repeater for other products.

NMEA Training Day for Selene Yacht Service
As a part of Selene Yacht Service’s commitment to furthering the training and education of our technicians, we schedule our technicians to attend classes and seminars throughout the year. The most recent class our crew attended was to become NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) Certified Installers. Six of our technicians attended the training course held in the SYS Marine Electronics office, which was directed by Steve Spitzer (Technical Director, NMEA). This program ensures a high level of professional expertise in electronics installation while using the working knowledge of NMEA’s installation standards. The course covered a variety of topics including electrical requirements, grounding systems, equipment installations and data communications and interfacing. These types of educational tools will help ensure Selene Yacht Service provides the best technicians available to our customers.

Happy New Year to everyone!! January is proving to be a busy month for the boatyard. We have 8 boats in the yard all in various stages of completion. We are working on launching our new website and are very excited about the upcoming functionality that the Customer Care section will have. You can click here to get more information on this exciting service that will be provided exclusively to Selene Yacht Service customers. December 2007
It’s been a busy year. Selene Yacht Service was launched in July 2007. Robert Dunlop, a Selene 62 owner, and Howard Chen, of Jet Tern are the owners of the yard. These past 6 months have been focused on cleaning up issues left by the former boat yard and setting up better systems both financial and operational, improving personnel and efficiency. We are going into 2008 a financially strong and much more focused company.
Brian Taylor, our General Manager, made his first trip to China this month. He had the chance to visit the Jet Tern factory, meet the staff and have several meetings with Howard Chen. We feel the connections he has made on this trip will be invaluable to our customers in the next year. Here are some pictures of his trip.
